You know when I first caught this fish it brought a lot of good memories to mind. How many times I had gone out fishing with my dad, all the commercial fishing I did back in the 80s and how it felt to fish with friends and family.
This Bass came to me as a surprise, it was hiding in the weeds towards the shallow part of the pond near a gypsum plant. I was casting a rat-l-trap at first and it hit it but did not commit to it, so I slowed down with a Rapala round bill crank, sexy shad type, I like that bait because of a larger hook in the back that I caught her. The feeling was wonderful, I had caught a nice largie here in Wyoming. Who would have known they can get big in such a small and cold pond. What a great day and great feeling, considering me and Susy Quest almost went off the side of a cliff to get there...LOL
